Learning how to better serve others and experiencing philanthropy in action
Our Philosophy of Service Learning
The importance of participating in community service is widely recognised as an effective way for students to learn first-hand the value of community and philanthropy. Community service activities that are meaningful and effective not only have a positive impact on the people and environment around us but also instill in our students core values of passion, gratitude and humanity.
Through service learning opportunities (SLPs), TH School students develop a deeper understanding of pressing social and environmental challenges and generate creative responses to solving these problems and implementing solutions, providing them with valuable opportunities to reflect and learn from these experiences. Through service learning, our students also learn how to better serve others and share and experience philanthropy in action.
At TH School, we encourage participation in service learning on any scale, small or large, ranging from personal volunteering through non-profit organizations such as Operation Smile, Habitat for Humanity, or Heartbeat Vietnam, to coordinated service projects, give-back drives, gratitude operations, and environmental campaigns. For more information on current Service Learning Opportunities that members of the TH School community can engage in, please click on the links below.
Current Service Learning Opportunities
Inspired by a project to show gratitude to people who serve, TH School students would like to do the same for people around us who are working hard to make our school life safe and memorable. If you have any nice gifts or things that you have not used and would like to give as a gift, or boxes such as shoe boxes or those of smaller sizes, please bring them to Ms. Van's office (A208) or Ms. Thao (H303).
If any members/teams within the TH School community (students, teachers, staff, parents) have an idea for a project that will benefit the community, they can apply to get funding to implement. To apply for funding support, the project team will need to provide the following information and send to Ms. Quyen at email@example.com
Being aware of the importance of milk in improving the children’s health condition, since May 19th, 2018, VSF has been making visits to K hospital every first and third Saturday morning to give milk and other presents to K children. If you would like to join the VSF in this activity, please contact Ms. Quyen at firstname.lastname@example.org to register (first come first serve). The visit and distribution of milk will be from 9am - 10am.
